This is just too disgusting for words:

PDATE 3pm: QUEENSLAND police are investigating the callous bashing of a Toowoomba boy who has been in the limelight for surviving January's devastating flash flood that killed his brother and mother.

Blake Rice was allegedly brutalised by a mob of teenage boys, who used sticks to break his collarbone before gloating about their actions on Facebook.

The boy received national media attention in January when he was saved from the raging waters by his 13-year-old brother, Jordan, who heroically told rescuers: "Take my brother first."

The thugs reportedly attacked the boy because they had recognised him from news reports.

Lifeline Darling Downs chief executive Derek Tuffield said Blake's father John Tyson told him up to six youths assaulted Blake.

"I met with Blake and his father on Tuesday at a function when the prime minister was in Toowoomba,'' Mr Tuffield said.
