Image via WikipediaBarry O'Farrell is dead right in demanding Marrickville Council drops it anti Israel ban. The Gaza Strip is not in Marrickville . The Councilors should have enough to do looking after streets and parks. The real problem is that the councilors have too much spare time on their hands. Marrickville has a population of about 78,000 with 12 councilors. Compare that with Parramatta which has about 167,000 people with 15 councilors. Parramatta is a real city too. In my view such small councils should be amalgamated away or at the very least have their councilors reduced from 12 to say, 7.
